Delta Air Lines, Inc. Sr Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

Oversees the development, design and production of repair, modification, process and inspection documentation in support of Delta's worldwide maintenance activities. Assist and provide guidance in the development of structural analysis for aircraft component repairs and damaged aircraft structure (primarily thrust reverser components). Candidate will serve on team supporting daily repair of thrust reverser (TR) components as well provide oversight/support for long-term health of the TR program. Evaluate and interpret AD, FAR, and Delta policy requirements to ensure compliance in all engineering documentation. Aid in analyzing and correcting problems which hamper the maintenance support activities of the department. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Four year accredited undergraduate engineering degree (Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) required. May require working odd hours based on operational requirements. Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years of specific experience supporting aircraft component repair, with a focus on structural repair preferred. Equivalent experience supporting other types of aircraft engineering acceptable (structural repair, propulsion, reliability, etc.). Strong background in Structural Analysis, including Statics, Mechanics of Deformable Bodies, Materials Science and Fracture Mechanics. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Adaptable and flexible. Problem-solving background with strong analytical skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of maintenance and engineering. Ability to perform and excel in a stressful environment with short deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills. Should be able to comprehend and be knowledgeable in FAA regulations. Should possess a thorough understanding of maintenance requirements, processes, and procedures. Must be a strong supporter of Six Sigma and continuous improvement efforts. Must be currently performing satisfactorily in present position. Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and Access) and AutoCAD (or similar CAD software) required.
