This Sr Engineer position operates within the Delta TechOps’ Repair Engineering Organization. This position provides technical support for turbofan engine MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) activities in one or more areas; Repair Development, New Product Introduction, Process Engineering, or Shop Support.

Responsibilities may include:

+ + Analyze data to define scope of work for projects, including process, equipment, tooling and labor requirements

  • Collate data into comprehensive concepts reports, then reduce and present the key information to stakeholder leadership to help drive decision

  • Establish and maintain schedules that achieve defined objectives, including breakdown of tasks and associated resources from conceptualization to industrialization

  • Develop partnerships and collaborate with individuals within engine maintenance, engineering, and other areas of TechOps to advance MRO solutions

  • Assist in the formulation and presentation of bids to bring new OEM repair work into TechOps

  • Work directly with OEMs to secure source-repair and process capability approval for Delta TechOps

  • Assist subject matter experts in defining guidelines and requirements for process-oriented shops and equipment

  • Work with process-oriented shops to prepare for accreditation audits (ISO, NADCAP)

  • Perform testing, calculations and industrialization of repair design and process improvements

  • Tactically support various engine maintenance departments with repair and process solutions to resolve work stoppages

  • Organize and/or prepare all relevant reports, drawings, and engineering authorizations

  • Engage in the development of entry level engineers

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution with 3 years or more of relevant industry experience. 2 years industry experience credited for a relevant Master’s degree, and 3 years for a PHD in the listed disciplines

  • Must possess relationship management skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; multi-tasking abilities; proven results-orientation; and strong analytical, organizational and time management skills

  • The position may be offered at either the Sr Engineer or Engineer level depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

+ + Experience with the repair or design of Gas Turbine or Turbofan engine components and repair concepts typically used in repair/manufacturing (e.g. machining, welding, heat treatment, brazing, cleaning, plating and coatings) strongly preferred

  • Previous Airline, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft engines a plus

  • Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, 14 CFR 121 and 14 CFR 145 repair station regulations a plus
