How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Systems Engineer serves as a liaison between Delta and 3rd party suppliers, requiring some high-level technical understanding of IT compute, storage, network, etc. Delta has two primary out-sourced vendors supporting the z/OS and z/TPF platforms but has multi-tiered applications that span multiple data centers. This position is more of a process leadership role,
rather than a "hands on" technical role.
Oversee the IT processes supporting the infrastructure and application systems
Coordinate between internal and external teams to facilitate the maintenance, support and project work associated with Delta’s IT platforms.
Ability to work with multiple IT processes including but not limited to; change control, incident management, problem management, project management, etc.
Analyze requests for completeness and clarity
Open Service Now requests as need
Coordinate resources for validations as required
Collaborate with impacted teams via meetings and written communications.
Ability to hold 3rd party vendors accountable
Provides on-call support to restore production services during incidents
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
6 + years of experience required as a mainframe z/OS systems programmer
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work with 3rd party suppliers
Engagement owner to drive tasks and issues to resolution
Self-motivated Ability to keep others accountable and on task
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
