Delta Air Lines Human Resources team is in the midst of a multi-year HR transformation. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in our Atlanta office. The HR Project Leader must possess the skills to manage projects through their full life cycle (end-to-end). Project Leader must be able to manage multiple projects with various levels of complexity simultaneously. The successful candidate will be a strong verbal and written communicator, suited for conducting weekly project meetings, communicating with stakeholders, gathering project requirements, meeting minutes, and project escalations.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects.
Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Ensures resource availability and allocation.
Develops detailed and comprehensive project plans to monitor and track progress.
Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Reports and escalates to management as needed.
Manages the relationship with all stakeholders.
Performs risk management to minimize project risks.
Establishes and maintains relationships with third parties/vendors on the project.
Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
Clarifies specific requirements of each project.
Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
Attends conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
Develops spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps and performs other related duties as assigned by the HR-PMO.
Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Must have a bachelor’s degree in business, or equivalent job experience in Technology/Project Management Field.
Must have a minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience; 6 years of experience is preferred.
Must be proficient in MS Office, MS Project and Visio and experience with or aptitude for presenting to stakeholders and/or Senior Leadership.
Must be proficient in creating flow charts (process maps).
Must possess a demonstrated analytical and process engineering ability.
Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment.
(If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
Two years SAP operational experience in HR is preferred.
Should have a proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs.
Should be able to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective.
Should demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
