Our company is currently looking for an experienced professional who thrives on building self-service data and analytics platforms. As a Principal Data Architect, you will oversee the development and use of a next generation data system.
The chosen candidate will have a strong aptitude for technology, professional demeanor, and possess excellent troubleshooting skills. The candidate will have built an enterprise data lake previously and have hands-on knowledge of public cloud data and analytics services specifically using AWS. To excel in this role, you should also have strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
Design and develop a data architecture and solution that enables the business to move quickly and independently.
Design and develop a data strategy that establishes the best practices for the enterprise.
Build and oversee a team to create the data platform for the company.
Ensure adherence to legal and company regulations.
Develop and maintain relationships with the business stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
Provide thought leadership and drive proof of concepts of new technologies for the enterprise.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
A minimum of 15+ years’ experience in data and analytics including hands-on experience in implementation and performance tuning Hadoop/Spark implementations.
Implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing, enterprise environments.
Experience building enterprise data lakes.
Experience building self-service data platforms for enterprise consumption.
An analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to translate complex problems clearly and in nontechnical terms.
