The Manager of Business Analysis and Reporting will oversee the Revenue Pipeline (RP) Application Support team including managing the initiation, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of RP application solutions, including the development of applicable reports and queries using Brio, SAS or similar database querying tools.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Revenue Pipeline Analytical Database (RPAD) Support team including managing the initiation, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation and documentation of RPAD solutions, including the development of applicable reports and queries using Hyperion Brio, SAS, TOAD, Tableau, or similar database querying tools.

  • Design, develop, test, and document structured queries and reports to extract data from RPAD. Maximize the performance and accuracy of such items.

  • Lead the daily monitoring of relevant RPAD production and metric reports. Identify, communicate, and resolve daily production exceptions and issues between the RPSC, IT, 3rd party vendors, and applicable Power Users.

  • Supervise and manage all aspects of direct reports’ overall performance including staffing, goal and objective setting, mentoring, training, and administering reviews.

  • Perform project/product management activities including: budgeting, work planning, resource estimating, issue prioritization and resolution, and training.

  • Perform deep management requested and standard financial and data analysis of Revenue Pipeline information related to passenger revenues, commissions, RASM, yield, profitability, and contractual agreements for various customer groups including senior management.

  • Review and interpret variances of financial results including year over year, and current vs. previous month/week, vs. plan and vs. forecast.

  • Proactively communicate findings, recommendations, and presentations to various groups, including senior management.

  • Proactively perform deep and complex audits of RPAD data, reports, queries, and tables to identify weaknesses in existing RPAD data integrity, reliability, or technical processes.

  • Identify and recommend application or business process enhancements to DL, IT, management, and relevant internal business teams. Then work with the appropriate teams to analyze, design, build, test, implement, document, and audit these enhancements.

  • Serve as a RPAD Subject Matter Expert.

  • Provide RP data, RP processes, and Delta business knowledge to other Delta organizations, IT, and third party vendors for the purposes of process integration and re-engineering, system integration, and industry automation & efficiency.

  • Design and implement financial controls consistent with Sarbanes Oxley compliance, generally accepted accounting principles, and good business practices.

  • Manage multiple existing and developing system projects and analyses with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment. Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • 5 or more years equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.

  • Must be capable of performing challenging analytical work and possess the ability to communicate detailed analytical data through oral and written means to all levels of management.

  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work assignments to work on several projects/products concurrently and meet or exceed deadlines.

  • Should have strong knowledge of the entire flight progression from close-out to revenue recognition and/or interline billing.

  • Should have strong knowledge of airline industry practices and processes for ticketing, proration, and/or revenue accounting activities. This includes electronic ticketing (eT), global distribution systems (GDS), and various industry data sources like ASP, BSP, TCN, and IDEC.

  • Should have strong knowledge of the Revenue Pipeline Application Suite including RPAD.

  • Should have a working knowledge of Hyperion Brio. Knowledge of Tableau, Cognos, SQL, SAS or a similar database query tool is a plus.

  • Should be proficient in MS Office applications, Documentum and Visio.

  • Should have the ability to work with others in a time sensitive and team environment with minimal supervision.

  • Should be a self-starter, with a natural curiosity to explore and understand any given situation.

  • Should have some demonstrated project/product management and/or technology project/product experience including requirements gathering, design, analysis, testing, status reporting, issue identification and resolution, work planning, and resource estimating.
