The Corporate Strategy team is focused on driving cross-division enterprise value as Delta moves beyond the pandemic, building on Delta’s unique competitive advantages and strength as a leading customer brand. This role of General Manager will help develop Delta’s long-term strategic roadmap, identify transformational cross-divisional opportunities, and understand related value creation/capture. This position will also have responsibility for supporting Delta C-Suite, core executive, and Board level priorities and help oversee partnership opportunities to meet our long-term objectives.

Primary Functions:

  • Work collaboratively with executive and senior management across divisions to identify, define and plan end-to-end for the most essential strategic opportunities and challenges.

  • Distill strategic themes, ideas, and opportunities into tangible executable, plans, initiatives.

  • Structure problem solving approaches, identify required analyses and information required to support, and communicate both the solution and path forward.

  • Manage cross-functional teams to develop and maintain views of important industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive benchmarking to affirm or alter strategies as necessary.

  • Maintain responsibility for deliverables and timelines, shifting priorities as needed and managing stakeholder relationships and expectations.

  • Support preparation of materials for Board and other executive meetings in conjunction with other business leaders.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic planning or larger scale / cross functional program management at Delta, other large corporate entities, strategy consulting firm, or investment banking.

  • Ability to work effectively with senior leadership on C-Suite and Board topics to drive change and achieve strategic goals.

  • Executive presence to be an effective agent of change, leading through influence and vision across the enterprise translating the strategic plan into tangible and easily understood goals.

  • Experience performing financial analysis, analytical modeling, data analysis for the purpose of assisting the exploration of strategic options and development of creative solutions to complex problems.

  • Experience researching external trends, sources, information to form perspectives / points of view / recommendations given quickly changing or ambiguous topics.

  • Self-starter, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast paced, highly visible environment.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles.

  • Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.

  • Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.

  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree in Business, Finance or related field or 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in identifying, connecting, and leveraging customer data as an enterprise asset.
