Thank you for inquiring about the opportunity to join our team as a General Manager- Base Maintenance.
Technical Operations is seeking individuals who have maintenance, operations and supplier/vendor management experience, proven leadership skills and possess a high level of accountability for achieving strong operational performance for Delta and our insourcing customers. The successful candidate should be able to lead a highly skilled technical team with a large frontline workforce. In addition, the candidate must be able to work effectively and collaboratively within the division and with outside vendors to support the Delta operation and MRO customers.
Develop both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious work environment for employees
Support Managing Director - Base Maintenance and the operations in the planning and implementation of Base Maintenance business strategies and operational metrics in support of the Tech Ops division.
Coordinates closely with other divisions, Tech Ops' business units and suppliers to deliver financial and operational goals.
Responsible for the daily operation of Base Maintenance in Atlanta to include 2 hangars with 8 bays and hangar support shops.
Drive strategic focus, strong financial performance and operational excellence within Base Maintenance.
Manage Base Maintenance's insourcing relationship with its MRO customers by delivering quality work, on schedule and with cost efficiency.
Lead a team of Managers, Duty Managers and frontline employees.
Establish expectations and priorities, monitor performance, coach, develop and create a positive, collaborative work environment that is highly change capable.
Identify and create strategic process improvement initiatives using Six Sigma methodology to advance departmental performance.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Bachelor's degree required or a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in an operational leadership role with proven performance.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or knowledge of TOC (Theory of Constraints) and CPPM (Critical path project management) preferred.
Previous supplier/vendor management and/or MRO experience highly desired.
Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.
Excellent leadership skills with experience leading technical teams, direct reports and frontline workgroups
Must be a change agent with the ability to drive performance in a fast paced, dynamic operational environment.
Strong business acumen and airline maintenance industry knowledge.
Must be a creative and innovative problem solver with strong project management experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills in order to successfully explain and implement initiatives to the workforce, collaborate with others, and present projects to all levels within the organization.
