Delta IT is transforming technology into a competitive advantage for the airline. A key pillar of this transformation is increased business agility by accelerating the delivery of enterprise value. This acceleration is achieved through the creation of an Agile ecosystem encompassing business and IT teams, increased development efficiency via modern DevOps practices and tools, and the development of a full suite of enterprise APIs that expose reusable business capabilities for consumption by current and future applications. The General Manager of Application Services will lead horizontally-focused centers of expertise to guide the IT organization on the path of people, process, and technology changes required to achieve these outcomes.


  • Focus on holistically accelerating the delivery of enterprise value, through leadership of the teams comprising the Agile Center of Expertise, the API Center of Expertise, and the DevOps Center of Expertise

  • Lead the Agile transformation for the company and the move from "Doing Agile" to "Being Agile"

  • Drive Agile throughout the organization, including the cultural shift of collaboration and enablement of all team members to deliver value at the right time

  • Institutionalize DevOps and CI/CD practices, which will prove key enablers as the company rebuilds its application layer to truly become a source of competitive advantage

  • Enable the accelerated delivery of APIs for consumption by different business applications or external entities

  • Spearhead the continued implementation and expansion of the Delta Dojo

  • Support product development and project teams

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of IT existing technologies, architectures, and emerging technologies

  • Set and ensure API and DevOps standards are implemented within applications

  • Communicate standards, best practices and patterns to practitioners, and strategies to senior leaders in IT and business stakeholders

  • Establish processes and procedures within the technology organization to drive the acceleration of value

  • Collaborate with IT operating model team to establish transition plans as we move to being agile


The General Manager will be a technology leader with a proven record of transforming teams towards the development of a best-in-class organization.
