The Engineering Project Specialist must have a strong commitment to safety and compliance values. This position has a dual responsibility role as a project manager, facilitator as well as a system technical expert.

The primary role of this position will serve as a project manager for assigned Engineering Projects and/or Maintenance Program task set-ups. It is the responsibility of this position to provide business process direction, project management and consulting services for Engineering Action Authorizations (AAs) and Maintenance Program tasks. Function as the liaison between engineering and various departments affected by development and accomplishment of the assigned project. Identify and manage activities and actions to ensure the assigned project is open within a defined cycle time target and/or before the business need date. Drives issue resolution or escalates issues as required to ensure time-lines are met. Champion's concepts related to Theory of Constraints and Critical Chain Project management to improve process productivity and throughput to meet the demands of the business. Provide AA-related technical guidance and administrative direction to ensure conformity with SCEPTRE forecast set-up requirements and standards, which are met for proper tracking, configuration and compliance in the system of record. Focus on AD-related projects to ensure the AA set-up upholds AD compliance. Coordinate and control AA status changes from development to open. Maintain an active role in the Mock Up process. Facilitate AD coordination, Project Strategy and Design Freeze meetings for assigned project. As a system technical expert, this role will mentor and guide engineers and maintenance program staff through complex set-ups as well as train them on SCEPTRE basics.

Demonstrate a professional manner and presence with customer-focused attitude toward issue resolution. Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

A&P License or B.S. in Engineering preferred, but strong candidates with other relevant experience will be considered. Experience and knowledge utilizing concepts of Theory of Constraints and/or Critical Chain Management are highly desired.

Computer experience with MS Office products and Delta applications (EARTH, AACS, SCEPTRE, and AMDS) are strongly desired. The candidate must have good facilitation skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Must effectively communicate with internal customers both verbally and in writing, including Engineering organizations, Planning, Maintenance, Inspection, NDT, Materials, and Maintenance Programs. The candidate must also have strong relationship management skills and be a strong team player, detail oriented, and perform well under pressure. Must also convey a professional image with ability to lead, manage and communicate to all levels in a team environment. Must have ability to effectively manage and deliver on many projects at once within strict deadlines. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with very little instruction or supervision under short timelines. Must be able to shift priorities with little advanced notice. Detail skills necessary to ensure that information is accurate and correct. Must be able to interpret technical instructions, conduct research, trouble-shoot and synthesize information to solve problems with AA set-ups in SCEPTRE. Must be able to participate in improving processes. Candidates must be able to prioritize work to meet established deadlines and have a strong sense of customer service.

Candidates must be willing to travel on short notice, work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required to the support operations.
