Reports to Manager - Simulator Engineering. Performs hardware/software troubleshooting and integration to ensure Delta's simulators are in compliance with FAA mandated requirements and pilot/maintenance training needs. Performs acceptance of new simulators, assists in the recurrent certification of simulators. Integrates hardware/software modifications to simulators to ensure commonality with the Delta aircraft fleet. Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Bachelors degree in engineering or computer science or related discipline preferred; experience in flight simulation preferred. Experience should include software editing, debugging, compiling, and linking using various computer platforms and operating systems.

Must possess strong technical, analytical, mathematical, organizational, decisionmaking, and administrative skills and be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously. Must perform with a high level of accuracy and self-guidance with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written skills. Knowledge of FAA regulations regarding flight training devices and simulators. Ability to read and interpret aircraft and simulator schematics and wiring diagrams. Knowledge of real-time simulation, host computer architecture and language, operating systems, programming languages, and peripheral devices preferred. Ability to write technical reports, memos, instructions, and other internal communications. Interpersonal skill in dealing with internal customers, outside governing agencies, airframe manufacturers, simulator manufacturers, and aircraft parts vendors. Ability to read and comprehend complex technical concepts associated with flight simulation.
