IFS On Board Serving is seeking a creative and innovative leader to join our Onboard Service (OBS) team to fully manage the logistics (upstream supply chain) of our farm-to-table global catering operations. T his position will report directly to the Managing Director, Global Catering and Logistics and will be based at the General Offices in Atlanta.
The Director, Catering Logistics Operations will partner with Supply Chain and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the proper planning, coordination and distribution of catering services to multiple locations. Additionally, this position will lead the catering supply chain transformation underway (demand management software implementation, supplier portal implementation, data quality management, supplier performance management) and partner with relevant stakeholders internal and external to introduce new products smoothly into the supply chain . The Director, Catering Logistics Operations, will be accountable for the supply chain reliability and speed and associated metrics . These responsibilities include each of the catering commodity areas (alcohol, rotables, expendables and associated transportation), technology (suite of applications utilized by Delta and caterers worldwide), and the management of our global network of warehouses including inventory accuracy and reconciliation.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Strategically define inventory practices that best balance customer service and cost. Lead the teams responsible for all inventory planning and purchasing. This includes the allocation plan for inventory across the OBS Global network of warehouses. Lead quarterly business reviews with third parties.
Lead OBS Forecasting team, leading the development and management of forecasting systems to set purchase plans and inventory stocking positions at warehouses and stations.
Efficiently manage transportation of catering rotables, expendables, and alcohol from manufacturer to warehouses. This includes identification and implementation of initiatives that improve customer service levels and reduce cost. Manage the storage of OBS materials worldwide in our global network of warehouses. Manage the transportation and delivery from warehouses or vendors to our worldwide network of catering kitchens.
Manage the team who serves as the primary business point of contact for the Finance organization. This includes the creation and monitoring of the annual capital plan and P&L; conducting analyses of any variance, and identification and implementation of revenue generating and/or cost reduction initiatives. This position has overall responsibility for financial reporting and management of costs associated with OBS Logistics.
Responsible for the strategic plan to effectively create action oriented measurements and KPIs for all of Onboard Services at all levels. Will prepare reports, dashboards and analyses for the executive level. Main point of contact with extensive interaction with Operational Analysis & Performance team, working jointly on measurement systems and continuous improvement projects. Leads the team responsible for the day to reporting and analysis of business performance productivity and performance. This team plays a key role in developing and implementing methodologies and techniques for data analysis and performs productivity analyses for the operation.
Lead a team of individuals to effectively manage and continuously improve catering asset and technology. Responsible for encouraging and enabling professional and personal development of the team. Bachelor’s degree and/or 8+ years of relevant experience
Master's degree or MBA
