The Operations Analysis and Performance division is seeking an Analyst to provide quantitative and strategic insights. Operations Analysis and Performance is a high-energy, high-visibility data analytics organization that is embedded within the operational divisions at Delta to drive continuous improvement in operational performance, financial performance, and employee satisfaction through robust data analysis, data visualization, data strategy development, and by leveraging new tools and technology. Analyses are often ad hoc, requiring creativity, a “can do” approach, and advanced data skills to measure the impact of various initiatives on operational and customer service metrics.

  • Write code to pull data related to operational performance and summarize results

  • Perform ad hoc data analyses, sometimes within tight deadlines, while balancing other routine tasks

  • Create presentations with input from leaders on content, visualization, business context, and story using modeling and statistical approaches to understand drivers in a complex system

  • Respond to requests in a timely manner keeping leaders apprised of project status and identifying road blocks and escalating for assistance when necessary

  • Proactively participate in technical/business learning opportunities through relationship building and collaboration

  • Coordinate project management tasks such as executive summaries, action items, and agendas; taking full accountability and ownership for their portion of the project and helping to monitor for overall accuracy

  • Identify and implement automation to routine analyses and reports to maximize capacity

  • Develop and maintain documentation around team ways of working and key deliverables

  • Lend support and guidance to fellow team interns/co-ops

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • High School diploma, GED or High School Equivalency

  • 1+ years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, or other relevant quantitative field

  • Experience with statistical analysis and modeling including linear regression, segmentation, and non-linear predictive regression; data programming languages (e.g. Python, SAS, SQL); Microsoft Excel; and data visualization tools (e.g. PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau)

  • Must be comfortable working in group and individual settings and routinely presenting to leaders

  • Data curiosity, self-motivation, action orientation and the ability to manage multiple, high visibility projects with critical timelines

  • Embrace diverse people, thinking and styles

  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree or experience in Data Analytics, Airline Operations or other relevant field

  • Previous airline experience
