Delta’s Innovation Team is made up of a multidisciplinary team of Designers, Engineers, Researchers, and Strategists. Our mission is to use technology to bring humanity back to travel. The team works closely with every part of the business to introduce new ideas, pilot new technologies, and partner with startups in the aviation space. Our user-centered approach means that whether we’re designing for customers or employees, a beautiful experience is the expectation.

As a UX Designer, you will craft industry-leading digital products, working from concept to final execution. You will work closely with other Innovation Team members to identify opportunities, understand the market, ideate digitally, research user behavior, and refine. Your work will be seen and loved by millions of Delta customers, and your ideas will help guide the future of the Delta travel experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and digital presentations to communicate design ideas.

  • Translate complex problems into simple solutions.

  • Execute innovative and compelling user interface and interaction design experiences across Delta’s digital platforms.

  • Take ownership of initiatives and play an active role in ensuring they progress efficiently.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital design.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong portfolio of digital design work that demonstrates a deep understanding of design principles and best practices.

  • Understanding of user research and testing methodologies and their application in the design process.

  • Experience using Figma and similar prototyping tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Understanding of digital accessibility design and user experience best practices.

  • Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first design principles.

  • Solid foundation in all aspects of digital design including photography, typography, layout, and design optimization.

  • Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, and CSS
